New year gift boxes to start the year

January is a strange month for gifts. Christmas is over, everyone is broke or dieting, and the last thing most people expect is a present. That is exactly why a snack box works so well at the start of the year. Nobody sees it coming. Here is how to play it.

Why January gifts hit harder

There is a lot of noise in December. By January, the noise is gone and people are back to their routines. A gift that arrives then does not compete with forty other presents. It just lands.

A food box is also useful at the start of a year. It is a pick me up for the grey stretch between New Year's and spring. No occasion needed. Just a reason to sit down and eat something good.

Boxes for resolutions and recovery

People fall into two camps in January. Some are all in on a fresh start, some are nursing a post holiday slump. Both are easy to feed.

For the fresh start crowd, go lighter and savoury. For everyone else, go with what they love and skip the guilt. A box of interesting snacks is a gentle way to say the year is starting well, no matter what the scales say.

Make it a ritual

Pair the box with something simple. A new film, a long walk, a bottle of something to share. The snack box becomes the excuse to stop and reset, which is really what the start of a year is for.

Browse the gift boxes for a ready made pick, or build one from the snacks page. Add a note that looks forward rather than back, and we print it inside the box.
